How do you qualify for IEEE fellow nomination?

Requirements for Fellow nomination At the time the nomination is submitted, a nominee must: Hold IEEE Senior member or IEEE Life Senior member grade. Be a member in good standing and have completed a minimum of five years of IEEE membership in any grade preceding 1 January of the year of elevation.

How many references do you need for IEEE Fellow?

Nominations must include at least three, but no more than five, References capable of assessing the contributions of the nominee. All References must be IEEE Fellows. Endorsements may strengthen a nomination but are not required.

Anyone can be a nominator (no need to be an IEEE Fellow, or even an IEEE member). The nomination deadline is 7 February (11:59 p.m. US Eastern Time), and all required information (and an electronic nomination kit) can be obtained from .ieee.org/fellows.

What percentage of IEEE members are fellows?

As it stands today, the IEEE Grade of Fellow is conferred by the Board of Directors upon a person with an extraordinary record of accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest. The total number selected in any one year does not exceed one-tenth of one percent of the total voting Institute membership.
