Public Act 330 was first enacted in 1968 over concerns about the regulation and training of security guards.
Comp. Laws 338.1080. A private security police officer, as described in section 29, who is properly licensed under this act has the authority to arrest a person without a warrant as set forth for public peace officers in section 15 of chapter IV of the code of criminal procedure, 1927 PA 175, MCL 764.
Individuals guards are not licensed through the state. They are registered with the state through the private security guard business (employee roster). Training and employment requirements are at the employers discretion.
Act 330 of 1993 AN ACT to impose a state tax on the transfer of an interest in real property; to provide for the administration of this act; to prescribe the powers and duties of certain state and local officers; to provide for the collection and distribution of the tax; and to prescribe penalties and provide remedies.
