PSEO students do not have to pay to enroll in fall and spring semester courses, but they are responsible for tuition and fees if they choose to enroll in summer classes.
Most PSEO courses are only open to high school students during their 11th- and 12th-grade year, with each participating college and university setting their own requirements for enrollment into the PSEO courses and programs. Students may take PSEO courses on a full- or part-time basis.
Students must have a 2.000 unweighted high school GPA at the time of application. See the Eligibility Application Requirements section. Students with an unweighted high school GPA of 3.600 or above will be automatically considered for admission to the general PSEO program, which allows access to other U of M courses.
Yes, PSEO classes at the U of M are more difficult than most AP classes, but its a different type of difficulty. AP classes (at least at the high school I went to in Maple Grove) are not difficult because of the material thats covered, theyre difficult because the teachers assign excessive homework.
The Postsecondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) program allows students to enroll in courses at a college or university and earn both high school and college credit for free. Students attend class with college students, either on campus or online.
