New Mexico collects state income tax across five tax brackets ranging from 1.7 percent to 5.9 percent for income earned in 2024 and reported on tax returns filed in 2025.
The state will begin accepting 2024 New Mexico personal income tax returns on January 27, 2025. Paper returns are due by April 15, 2025 while electronic filings can be made until April 30, 2025.
