Annual recertification: Each year, most CalFresh recipients must renew eligibility on time in order to keep getting CalFresh without interruption. We will mail you a recertification Form CF 37 before the submission due date. Your caseworker may interview you by phone and help you complete the form.
Semi-Annual Report / SAR7 The Semi-Annual Report or SAR7 is required to complete in order to continue receiving CalFresh Benefits. It is due 6 months after your initial application is approved. The county will mail you a notice for your SAR7 due date and a paper copy of the report to complete.
The SAR 7 is due on the 5th of the month, in the sixth month after application or recertification. It is late if the county has not received it by the 11th of that sixth month. The case will be discontinued if a complete report is not received by the first business day of the following month, i.e., the seventh month.
In California, CalFresh benefits or food stamps are deposited onto EBT cards during the first 10 days of each month. The exact mailing date is determined based on the last digit of the case number of each beneficiary. Benefits are also sent on weekends and holidays.
You must submit the SAR 7 once a year (six months after your application and then six months after your annual Renewal). I just applied for aid, when do I have to send the first SAR 7? You must send the first SAR 7 in the sixth month after your application.

If you are approved for CalFresh, be prepared to fill out a SAR-7 every 6 months for renewal of your benefits. The SAR-7 can be completed online on your YourBenefitsNow (YBN) account or through GetCalFresh. This SAR-7 renewal process includes filling out a form and uploading your most recent verification documents.
If, for some reason, you are unable to submit the SAR 7 in time or if you forget, this will impact your CalFresh benefits. If it is submitted after the 11th of the turn-in month, your benefits can be changed, paid late or simply stopped altogether.
In order to keep receiving CalFresh benefits, you will need to submit mandatory reports. The Semi-Annual Report or SAR7 is due 6 months after your application date. The Recertification Report is due 12 months after your application date.
