The 2026 AMCAS application has a few new features: Screens for creating new Letter of Evaluation requests have been updated, including a new email feature for contacting letter authors. Re-applicants data will rollover for the Military Discharge, Misdemeanors, Felonies, and Institutional Actions sections.
The AAMC is governed by a 19-member Board of Directors.
You are required to ask 3 different individuals to provide a reference on your behalf: 1 academic- or employment-related referee, 1 non-academic referee and. 1 referee of your choosing.
Generally, its not advisable to send more than five. The goal is to have the overall quality of your letters be as high as possible. Imagine that you were giving a letter grade for the quality of each letter of recommendation you are sending to medical schools.
You may not create multiple AAMC IDs for any reason without the prior written consent of the AAMC.
