Is UNC library public?

Campus libraries are open to the public. In order to create a welcome and comfortable environment conducive to teaching, learning, and research, we ask for your cooperation with the following library and University policies and in ance with local, state, and federal law.

How do I find books at UNC library?

If you are unable to find a specific resource in the UNC catalog, you can search the TRLN catalog or WorldCat. These wil show you if that resource is located somewhere near by. If it is, you can then request the item through the UNC Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service. Use of ILL requires the setup of an account.

How many books can I check out UNC?

State residents who purchase a card are limited to a total of five books checked out at any one time for the first year they have the Borrowers card. After one year of problem-free borrowing the limit on the number of items checked out may be lifted when the card is renewed for a second year.

Can I eat in Davis Library?

Single-serving, dry snacks and covered beverages are permitted in most areas. Greasy, messy, liquid-based (soup), or strong-smelling foods such as fast food and pizza are not permitted in the libraries. Food deliveries are not permitted.

Are UNC libraries open to public?

Everyone is welcome to make on-site use of the libraries; however, those who do not have a current, formal relationship with UNC must pay an annual fee for a Borrowers card in order to check books out.
