The Order of the Arrow High Adventure program provides Scouts between ages 14-20 the opportunity to experience one of the four Boy Scouts of Americas national high adventure bases on a whole new level.
The Order of the Arrow (OA) is Scoutings national camping honor society. It recognizes Scouts and Scouters (adults) who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives. This recognition provides encouragement for others to live these ideals as well.
Your council may already have a canoeing or backpacking high-adventure program, but what about rock climbing, caving, horse packing, rafting, mountain biking, rappel- ling, sailing, scuba diving, bicycle touring, and skiing? Collectively, the councils that have high-adventure programs offer these activities and more.
A section is lead by three youth officers: the Section Chief, Section Vice Chief, and Section Secretary, who are advised by an adult Section Adviser and professional Section Staff Adviser. Together, each region chief, the national vice chief, and the national chief make up the national leadership of the OA.
