Student cannot become 19 years of age prior to August 1 of the current school year.

In Louisiana, from the time you docHub 9th grade, you have 8 semesters (4 years) to compete. The caveat there is if you participate in high school athletics as a 7th or 8th grader. You may also not participate if you docHub your 19th birthday prior to September 1.

What is the mission statement of the LHSAA?

The mission of the LHSAA is to direct and regulate the interscholastic athletics of our member schools while promoting fair and equitable competition that is in the best interest of the student-athlete.

Do you have to sit out a year if you transfer high schools in Louisiana?

A transfer to another member school in the same attendance zone shall render the student ineligible for one calendar year. If a student shall has been recruited to a school for athletic purposes, he/she shall remain ineligible as long as the student attends that school.
