September. Start of September ERAS begins accepting application submissions for residency programs. Mid-September NRMP registration opens (the deadline for standard registration is at the end of January, additional fees apply for late registration).
You cannot apply to programs until your application has been certified and submitted. Once you have certified and submitted your MyERAS application, you will not be able to make any changes or updates outside the information provided under the Personal Information section.

Once you have certified and submitted your application, it will be irrevocably locked and no changes will be permitted. Your application, once certified and submitted, is provided to all programs to which you apply during this ERAS program season.
ERAS Eligibility To participate in ERAS, you must have a USMLE/ECFMG Identification Number. You may purchase a residency and apply to programs before you complete the examinations required for ECFMG Certification.
