General Description The CCR Rule requires all community water systems to prepare and distribute a brief annual water quality report summarizing information regarding source water, detected contaminants, compliance, and educational information. Every community water system that serves at least 25 residents year round or that has at least 15 service connections must prepare and distribute a consumer confidence report. These systems typically include cities, towns, homeowners associations, and mobile home parks.
The CCR includes information on source water, levels of any detected contaminants, and compliance with drinking water regulations (including monitoring requirements), along with some educational information. Most reports fit on a few sheets of paper.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires every community water supplier to provide a CCR to its customers.
