Yes, a NJ STARS student must attend their home county college.
The NJ STARS award covers the cost of tui on, less any State and/or Federal grants and scholarships, for up to five semesters. The award covers these charges for up to 18 credit hours per semester. Funding for NJ STARS awards is dependent upon annual State appropria ons.
Student Eligibility New Jersey residents, who rank in the top 15 percent of their class at the end of either junior or senior year of high school are potentially eligible for the NJ STARS program.
NJ STARS II will provide a $2,500 annual scholarship for NJ STARS students who earn their associate degrees at their community colleges with grade point averages of 3.25 or better and successfully transfer to any public or private New Jersey four-year college or university to earn their baccalaureate degrees.
