The additional deduction for single filers or heads of household who are either age 65 or over or blind is $1,850 ($3,700 if the person is both age 65 or over and blind).
The personal exemption is $3,200. This exemption is reduced once the taxpayers federal adjusted gross income exceeds $100,000 ($150,000 if filing Joint, Head of Household, or Qualifying Widow(er) with Dependent Child).
*New for tax year 2022. Residents who are at least 65 on the last day of the tax year may be eligible for a nonrefundable tax credit of up to $1,000. To claim this credit, complete Part M of Form 502CR and follow the instructions for reporting your total credits on Form 502.
