Yes, the Mathcounts Competition Series is highly competitive and prestigious. Thousands of students participate annually from across the country, with only 200+ making it to the finals. The national winner receives a $20,000 scholarship.
Target Round Students have 6 minutes to complete each set of two problems. Students may not go back to previous rounds (or forwards to future rounds) even if they finish before time is called. Calculators are allowed for the Target Round. Usually comprised of one confidence booster and one hard problem.
Students enrolled in grades 6-8 are eligible to participate in the MATHCOUNTS Competition Series.
