While foreign judgments, or any judgments of a court where the debt did not originally occur, also have a collection period of 10 years but may not be renewed or extended.
A judgment can potentially become permanent; many states allow creditors to renew their judgments. So, if a creditor gets a court order or files an affidavit or another document, it can renew the judgment for an additional cycle. In some states, creditors are allowed to renew a judgment once or twice.
You can ask the court to set aside the CCJ by filling in form N244. You'll probably have to pay a fee for your case to be looked at again. If the court agrees that you don't owe the money, your CCJ will be removed from the Register. Removing the entry could take up to 4 weeks.
You can get your CCJ marked as satisfied by providing evidence of full payment \u2013 possibly a bank statement \u2013 to the court. You can also apply for a certificate to show you have paid the CCJ in full.
