How many people fail the edTPA?

Second, policies typically allow candidates to attempt the assessment multiple times. In the second half of the 2013- 2014 school year (when the edTPA was consequential), 4% of test takers failed the edTPA the first time they took it, but about half of these candidates eventually passed the test.

What is included in the edTPA?

The edTPA is broken into 3 tasks: planning, instruction, and assessment. Typically, each task has five rubrics provided to guide you and help explain how youll be scored. You will also be given a handbook specific to your certification area.

What is the pass rate of the edTPA?

The edTPA is a subject-specific performance assessment initially approved for use in California as a teaching performance assessment in 2014 and again in 2018. The best attempt pass rate for edTPA: MS/SS ranged from 95 percent in 201819 to 97 percent in 201922. The 202223 rate was 93 percent.

Can I still graduate if I dont pass edTPA?

Can I get my masters degree without passing the edTPA? Technically, yes. Your edTPA is part of your credentialing requirements, not your coursework requirements that determine your ability to receive a masters degree.
