Our Student Hardship Fund and Emergency Loans provide financial assistance to help our students through periods of financial difficulty and unexpected hardship. We know that sometimes things can be difficult financially, and at Roehampton we are committed to providing avenues to help our students in times of need.
You or your partner or children must be experiencing hardship and in most cases you must show that you or your family will suffer hardship unless benefit is paid.
Unlike loans, hardship grants offer financial help you dont have to pay back. They are there to help people meet unplanned expenses, covering: Rent and housing costs (which covers mortgage assistance/emergency shelter aid) Medical costs (surgery, treatment, prescription medicines)
Where students are experiencing a temporary shortfall in funding a loan maybe provided, the maximum loan value is 500 (the loan must be repaid). Funds can be provided towards travel, accommodation, course materials, childcare and general living costs.
What support is available? To be considered for a grant, students need to be financially assessed. The maximum grant value is 1,500 and for priority* students 2,500 (grants do not need to be repaid).
