Virginia offers sales and use tax exemptions for use by a farmer for purchase of tangible personal property for use in producing agricultural products for market, medicine and drugs sold to a veterinarian, or property used to produce agricultural products for market in an indoor, closed, controlled environment
First, the farm must consist of a minimum of 15 acres of land which is actively being used for agricultural purposes. That would include growing crops, plants, flowers, livestockeven fish. The idea is that you are currently intentionally using the land to produce something.
