Can you get tops back after losing it?

Once you lose your Performance or Honors Award, you cannot regain it. You must achieve the TOPS Cumulative GPA required for the Opportunity Award at the end of the academic year or your TOPS Award will be suspended until you have regained academic standing and have achieved the required TOPS Cumulative GPA.

What is an exception form?

Exception Form means the form developed and issued by the Head of Commercial Finance to be completed and submitted to the required approver(s), as identified in these Procurement Regulations for the particular exception, by the Procurer/Contract Manager.

Will I lose tops if I fail a class?

Yes. Remedial hours taken and passed during the academic year do count toward the 24 hours required even if your school reports a P for the remedial class. If you do not pass a remedial class, it will be treated as an F and will affect your TOPS Cumulative GPA.

How do you qualify for Louisiana tops?

In order to be considered for TOPS, the student must attend a Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) APPROVED HIGH SCHOOL. All Louisiana public schools are approved. If the student attends a non-public school, it must be approved by BESE in order for the student to be considered for TOPS.

The minimum ACT score to qualify for the TOPS Tech Award is a 17 (or 920 SAT). The highest composite score achieved on a single exam of either the ACT or SAT will be used to determine the eligibility. TOPS does not consider the essay portion of the ACT or SAT in calculating the composite score needed to qualify.
