You can pay the fee with a few simple steps! Just go to Californias Franchise Tax Board website, and under Business, select Use Web Pay Business. Select LLC as entity type and enter your CA LLC entity ID. Once you verify your identity, select Estimated Fee Payment (Form 3536)
You will have the option of paying online, paying by credit card, or paying by check with each return or prepayment. The ability to make an online payment has been established for your convenience. You may pay online one month, and by credit card or check the next month.
LLCs should use form FTB 3536, Estimated Fee for LLCs, to remit the estimated fee payment. A penalty will apply if the LLCs estimated fee payment is less than the fee owed for the taxable year. See Penalties and Interest, for more information. The LLC fee remains due and payable by the due date of the LLCs return.
Using black or blue ink, make the check or money order payable to the Franchise Tax Board. Write the California corporation number, FEIN, California SOS file number and 2023 FTB 3586 on the check or money order. A penalty may be imposed if the payment is returned by the bank for insufficient funds.
Estimated Fee for LLCs ($900 $11,790) This is filed on Form 3536 and is calculated based on your California LLCs gross receipts (total revenue). The larger the gross receipts, the higher the fee. You must first submit Form 3536 by the 15th day of the 6th month after you filed your LLC.
