What is BIA-HIP-ARP? The Bureau of Indian Affairs; Housing Improvement Plan, American Rescue Plan funding provided through Indian Affairs, U.S. Department of Interior, under Section 11002 of the American Rescue Plan Act, is a housing improvement program for home repair, renovation, and replacement grant program.
The Community Housing and Infrastructure Department commonly called CHID was established in 2008 and has four programs which assist with Navajo Nation members with housing and infrastructure development to homes.
You must meet all of the conditions below to qualify: Be an enrolled member of a federally recognized American Indian or Alaska Native tribe. Prove you are not able to pay for the needs of food, clothing, shelter, and utilities. Live in or near an approved service area.
The Section 811 Supportive Housing for Persons with Disabilities, and Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly programs provide funding to develop and subsidize rental housing for low-income adults with disabilities and residents 62 years of age or older.
Eligible IHBG recipients are federally recognized Tribes, Tribally Designated Housing Entities (TDHEs), and a limited number of State-recognized Tribes.
