Starting July 28, 2023, the New Canada Workers Benefit will provide quarterly payments to support Canadas lowest-paid workers and enhance affordability in their lives.
The grocery rebate is available for Canadians who have either: A household income of $38,000 or less. An individual income of $32,000 or less.
This Rebate is scheduled to be issued on July 5, 2023, alongside the next quarterly GST/HST credit payment. The Grocery Rebate will be equivalent to double the GST/HST credit amount you received for January 2023.
Eligible single workers can receive up to $1,518, while families can get up to $2,616 based on their income, distributed across three basic quarterly payments. Additionally, eligible Canadian workers with a disability can receive up to $737 as a supplement, depending on their annual income.
Note: Based on changes in the CPI, OAS benefit amounts increased by 1.3% for the October to December 2023 quarter, compared to the previous quarter (from July to September 2023).
