What is the swap out scheme for stamps?

Stamps are changing But no need to panic. You can use non-barcoded stamps until 31 July 2023. Royal Mail has also introduced the Stamp Swap Out Scheme so you can swap all your non-barcoded stamps for the new barcoded ones. The barcodes, when scanned on a phone, will connect you to new services on the Royal Mail app.

Can you get proof of posting for Freepost?

You can request a free proof of posting at the Post Office when you hand over your letter or parcel for posting.

How do I get proof of postage for Freepost swap out?

Unfortunately, theres no way to get proof of postage when you send off the freepost envelope. But if you think your stamps have got lost along the way, or you havent received your new stamps after two weeks, then phone Royal Mail customer services on 03457 740740 and they will help.

What if my swap out stamps get lost in the post?

If your swap out form and/or non-barcoded stamps are lost in transit to us when using Special Delivery Guaranteed we will not consider any claim for loss unless you provide a certificate of posting and the tracking number of the item (we therefore recommend that you keep the necessary records).
