Medical Care (CHAMPVA) CHAMPVA provides medical care for the spouse and dependent children of most 100% service-connected disabled veterans. In general, the CHAMPVA program covers most health care services and supplies that are medically and psychologically necessary.
The children of 100% permanent and total disabled veterans who turn 18 during their senior year of high school can start receiving Chapter 35 (Dependent Education Assistance) benefits while still attending high school. It does not take away from their 36 months of DEA benefits for college, OJT, and/or apprenticeships.
The Georgia Department of Veterans Services(GDVS) is available for assistance. FOR AD VALOREM TAX or TITLE AD VALOREM TAX EXEMPTION(TAVT): Persons who are 100% Service Connected Disabled are exempt from Ad Valorem Tax and/or TAVT on one vehicle only.
College Fee Waiver Student children of a veteran with a service-connected rating of 0% or higher may be able to attend any state college/university tuition free. The California State Department of Veterans Affairs will waive the fees at any state school for the children of a service-connected disabled veteran.
Georgia provides 100% disabled vets a property tax waiver of at least $50,000 on their primary residence. The exact rate changes depending on the fluctuation rate set by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs.
