Our existence has always been based upon sisterhood and friendships, and I am forever grateful for the ones I have developed through our Fraternity. Thats the best thing about being a Zeta: its easy to make friends in every stage of your life because you already share a common bond.
Strengthening friendships and fostering a spirit of love Zeta Tau Alpha was created to make a difference in the lives of our members by developing the potential of each individual. Our goal is to connect members through a close bond of sisterhood and to build up a purer and nobler womanhood in the world.
The purpose of the MIS is to enhance membership selection by providing relevant, useful information about PNMs with whom alumnae have long-standing relationships. ZTA does not require an MIS, a letter of recommendation or a reference, and none of those give a PNM an advantage over others.
Zeta Tau Alpha (known as or Zeta) is an international womens fraternity founded on October 15, 1898 at the State Female Normal School (now Longwood University) in Farmville, Virginia.
It was the intent of the Founders and confirmed by action at two early conventions that Zeta Tau Alpha be designated as a fraternity. This was done to distinguish our organization from the sisterhoods organized in connection with mens fraternities, called sororities. Zeta Tau Alpha has no brother fraternity.

You must be attending college full-time for the fall AND spring semesters/quarters of the year for which you are applying. If you are an undergraduate student, you must be a junior or higher during the academic year for which you are applying. You must also have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
We are most definitely a sisterhood, and we are sorority women, but our official name will always be Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity.
