Floridas School Readiness Program (SR) offers financial assistance to eligible low-income families for early education and care so they can become financially self-sufficient and their young children can be successful in school in the future.
In general, there are three specific eligibility requirements: Children must live in a low-income family where parent/guardians work or attend school at least 20 hours per week. Gross income must be at or below 150% of the federal poverty for family size. THIS WILL BE ST. Families must pay a co-payment for childcare.
To be eligible for the program, the applying household must be a resident of Seminole County and have a gross household income at or below 125% of the 2015 Federal Poverty Level. All applicants are required to submit a completed application to be considered eligible for enrollment into the program.
The SR Plus program helps low-income families pay for child care while lessening the effect of the benefits cliff when those families are no longer eligible for the School Readiness (SR) Program. Participating SR Plus families will pay an increased portion of the cost of their child care.
Who is Eligible for VPK? To be eligible for VPK, children must live in Florida and be 4 years old on or before September 1 of the current school year.
