Loan servicers send a 1098-E to anyone who pays at least $600 in student loan interest.
Your student loan servicer (who you make payments to) will send you a copy of your 1098-E via email or postal mail if the interest you paid in 2022 met or exceeded $600. Even if you didnt receive a 1098-E from your servicer, you can download your 1098-E from your loan servicers website.
Federal income tax returns (Note: You must provide consent and approval to disclose your federal tax information to be eligible for federal student aid.) Records of child support received. Your current balance of cash, savings, and checking accounts. Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable)
Form 1098-T reports activity occurring in the calendar year. Therefore, if the total aid you received during the calendar year (reportable in Box 5) exceeds the qualified tuition and related expenses (QTRE) paid during the same calendar year, you will not receive a Form 1098-T.
If you didnt pay any servicer at least $600 interest in a calendar year, you wont receive any 1098-E forms.
