Transferring benefits out of the NHS pension scheme You are able to transfer your benefits out of the NHS pension scheme. There are restrictions on the type of transfers available and time limits which apply. Benefits can generally be transferred out of the scheme at any time before your normal pension age.
You can choose to take voluntary early retirement from the minimum retirement age and receive reduced benefits. Your pension is reduced to allow for the fact that it is being paid earlier than expected. Your dependants will still get any benefits they are entitled to in full.

You must then return the form to your employer for them to complete parts 1 to 5. Your employer will then submit your application to NHS Pensions on your behalf.
