In the event the checking account becomes overdrawn, I/We authorize Golden 1 Credit Union to automatically transfer available funds in increments of $200 or, up to the available balance from the designated account to satisfy the amount of the overdraft.
In most cases, it isnt possible to overdraft a credit card, or spend above your credit limit. If you opt in to over-the-limit charges, it may be possible to exceed your limit. However, overdraft usually refers to overdrawing a bank account, not a credit card.
If I opted into debit overdraft, can the bank/credit union still decline a debit purchase if it would overdraw my account? Yes. Banks and credit unions can decide whether to pay a debit transaction that would cause an overdraft.
Even if you have overdraft protection, this means you cannot borrow more than your bank will allow if you overdraw your account (such as $500 or $1,000).
Under our standard overdraft practices: We will charge you a fee of $20.00 each time we pay an overdraft. There is a maximum of two (2) Courtesy Pay fees per day we can charge you for overdrawing your account. Courtesy Pay fees will be waived on transactions that use $10.00 or less of Courtesy Pay per transaction.
