The City of Wilmington Earned Income Tax - commonly known as the City Wage Tax - is calculated at 1.25% of gross wages and must be collected by New Castle County and submitted to the City of Wilmington for all employees who either reside or work in the City.
1. If you are a Full-Year Resident of the State, you must file a tax return for 2022 if, based on your Age/Status, your individual Delaware adjusted gross income (AGI) exceeds the amount shown below. This dollar amount represents your individual Adjusted Gross Income, NOT a total combined with anyone else.
You do this by subtracting your business expenses from your business income. If your expenses are less than your income, the difference is net profit and becomes part of your income on page 1 of Form 1040 or 1040-SR. If your expenses are more than your income, the difference is a net loss.
In this case, youre considered a part-year resident and you DO need to file a return in California and possibly the state you moved from. Work in one state and live in another: Working across state lines can mean that you need to file two state returns, but it doesnt necessarily mean that you are taxed twice.
