Reallocations and fund transfers are limited. Each calendar month, your first two reallocations or fund transfers may be used to redistribute money in your account among any of the TSP funds. After the first two of either type of transaction, for the remainder of the month, you can only move money into the G Fund.
To access the tool, participants must log into My Account and click on “Withdrawals and Changes to Installment Payments,” then click on “Changes to Installment Payments.” This online tool will guide the participant through the request by prompting the participant to answer questions.
You can use one of these methods or any combination of them that you choose. There is no limit of the number of distributions you can take after you retire, though processing times limit you to no more than one every 30 calendar days.
Here are some things to consider: If you need a portion of your TSP savings right away, but want to leave the rest to continue growing, consider taking a distribution of just a portion of your account. The minimum amount you can take is $1000, but there is no limit to how many you can take in your lifetime.

Complete Form TSP-77 and mail it to the TSP Service Office. (Your request cannot be processed until your agency sub- mits confirmation of your separation to the TSP.) 2. Use the TSP Web site (www.tsp.gov) to begin (and in some cases, complete) your withdrawal request.
Most TSP participants are on top of it: About 75% put in at least 5% of their pay to get the full match. Keep in mind that the match your agency or service puts in your account is classified as a traditional contribution that will be taxed in retirement.
You may start, change or stop your contributions any time after your first full pay period in pay status. Your Leave and Earnings Statement should reflect your TSP deductions within two pay periods. If you do not work for DoD, you can make changes using your agency's self-service or electronic system, where applicable.
The TSP says you should allow up to 10 days from the time you submit your withdrawal request until payment is sent. You will be notified when your payment has been disbursed.
If you have a 401(k) or TSP through your employer, your contribution is reported in Box 12 of your W-2 with the letter code D. Because your contribution is included in your W-2, do not re-enter it in the retirement section.
