The ECERS is a classroom assessment tool designed to measure the quality of group programs for infants and toddlers (birth to age 3) by collecting data through classroom observations and a staff interview. The assessment is a 43-item rating scale organized into seven environmental subscales.
*To make a sizable structure using the same type of blocks, each child would need a set of at least 30 small unit blocks or 10 large hollow blocks.
ECERS-R evaluates the quality of preschool settings including space, routines, language, activities, interaction, program structure, and support for parents/carers and staff.
Number of Blocks: Ideally, provide at least 40 to 60 unit blocks for each child allowed in the block area at the same time. If you dont have that many blocks, build your collection slowly by adding new blocks each year, or consider sharing block sets between classrooms.
