Commercial motor vehicles are IFTA qualified if they are used, designed, or maintained for the interstate transportation of persons or property and: Have two axles and a gross vehicle weight (GVW) or registered GVW exceeding 26,000 pounds; or. Have three or more axles, regardless of weight; or.
If you dont have a Florida IRP account, you must have IFTA qualified vehicles registered in the state. Florida can limit the number of IFTA decals issued on your account. Additional documentation may be required to support the number of decals you can receive.
IFTA decals expire on December 31 of each year. Therefore, approximately two to three months before the end of the current calendar year, the Florida Bureau of Commercial Vehicle and Driver Services (Bureau) will mail all active IFTA licensees a decal reorder form with payment instructions for the new calendar year.
