Introduced on 1 October 2022, the AN-ACC funding model is an efficient, transparent and sustainable funding model for residential aged care. AN-ACC provides equitable funding to residential aged care providers that better matches residents needs and the costs of delivering care.
The Aged care funding instrument (ACFI) is used to measure the level of care each resident needs, based on activities of daily living, residents behaviour and complex health care.
The ACFI contains three domains: activities of daily living, behavioural needs, and complex health care. The residents are classified to their level of need in each domain no need, low, medium or high.
The Aged Care Risk Classification System is a tool used to identify and manage potential risks in the aged care sector. It categorizes risks based on their severity and likelihood, helping to prioritize and manage them effectively.
People in permanent residential care need help with most activities and their needs are assessed through the Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI) on three different areas of careactivities of daily living, cognition and behaviour, and complex health care.
