Business Property Statement (571-L Forms) Businesses are required by law to file an annual Business Property Statement if their aggregate cost of business personal property exceeds $100,000, or if the Assessor requests the information. Separate filings are required for each business location.
Every corporation and limited liability company is required to file a Statement of Information either every year or every two years as applicable. The Secretary of State sends a reminder to the business entity approximately three months prior to the date its filing is due.
Business Personal Property includes all supplies, equipment and any fixtures used in the operation of a business. Exempt from reporting are business inventory, application software and licensed vehicles (except Special Equipment (SE) tagged and off-road vehicles).
Keep copies of all property tax statements, receipts showing sales tax paid and/or state income tax returns.
