Under certain circumstances, students who fail to meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and lose eligibility for financial aid can appeal the financial aid suspension. Students must clearly state what caused the suspension and must also clearly indicate what has changed that will now allow the student to succeed.
Under university rules, you may appeal a decision on an Academic Record Change petition to the Admissions and Standards Committee, provided there is a legitimate reason for the appeal. A general dissatisfaction with the decision is not adequate grounds for an appeal.
Federal law allows schools to approve appeals if extenuating circumstances* affected a students ability to maintain SAP.
