The amount of time between taking a test and getting results varies, but in general you should count on at least several weeks and sometimes as long as three or four months for exam results.
After an exam is administered, it generally takes 9-12 months for an eligible list of passers to be established from which agencies can hire from.
Typically, a score of 70% or above is good enough to pass. Your score places you on a ranking list, comparing you to others who have taken the exam. The better you do, the higher your rank, which can put you ahead of other applicants interested in civil service jobs.

The results from this examination will be available after the receipt and review of all examination appeals. This process generally takes a minimum of 12 weeks following the last test review date. Candidates should NOT call the CSC for their scores. Candidates will receive their examination results in the mail.
Most eligible lists are initially established for four years. However, a list can be superseded by a new list after one year. If you decline a canvass by either letter or telephone, or at the interview, your name may be inactivated for the type of appointment, shift, agency or location.
