Legion Riders help generate awareness of the Legion, strengthen support for Veterans, RCMP members and their families, and engage Canadians in community service and fundraising. By wearing the Legion Riders crest, Legion Riders show their pride in the Legion and help promote all that the Legion stands for.
All ALR groups shall avoid the perception of being a motorcycle club (MC) or biker club. The only recognized American Legion Rider logo is that which is copyrighted and sold through The American Legion National Emblem sales. All Members will obey the motorcycle laws of their state.
American Legion Riders chapters are well known for their charitable work, which has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local childrens hospitals, schools, veterans homes, severely wounded servicemembers and scholarships.
With over 110,000 American Legion Riders in more than 2,000 chapters across every domestic department and at least three foreign countries, the community is united in service and camaraderie.
A Riders Chapter MUST have a sponsoring Post taking their name and Post number with a minimum of FIVE riders. The members must be in good standing, having a current paid membership valid dues card with the American Legion, Legion Auxiliary, or the Sons of the American Legion.
