A General Partnership is a formal agreement between two or more people to operate a business together. The partners share the business assets, profits, and debts. Kentuckys Revised Uniform Partnership Act (Chapter 362.1 of Title 29 of the Kentucky Statutes) governs General Partnerships in the state.
The partnership files a copy of Schedule K-1 (Form 1065) with the IRS to report your share of the partnerships income, deductions, credits, etc.
Partnerships must create a Kentucky Form 4562, Schedule D and Form 4797 by converting federal forms.
Reporting Partnership Income Each partner reports their share of the partnerships income or loss on their personal tax return. Partners are not employees and shouldnt be issued a Form W-2. The partnership must furnish copies of Schedule K-1 (Form 1065) to the partner.
