SAP Denied: Students who continue to fail to meet SAP will be placed in a Denied status. Students have the option to appeal this denial. An appeal must be based on docHub extenuating circumstances that seriously affected and prohibited a students academic performance and/or completion.
A student who does not meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policy is considered ineligible for financial aid. However, UC Merced allows a student to appeal their financial aid ineligibility if they have special circumstances that prevented them from meeting SAP.
Federal law allows schools to approve appeals if extenuating circumstances* affected a students ability to maintain SAP.
Appeal Denied: If an appeal is denied, students can regain eligibility by meeting SAP standards, or they can request a Second Level SAP Appeal.
