Working Tax Credit is for working people on a low income. It is based on the hours you work and get paid for, or expect to get paid for. You can claim if youre an employee or youre self-employed. Unpaid work does not count for Working Tax Credit.

The 2021 expansion allowed the poorest families in the country, those who dont file income taxes, to access the child tax credit for the first time in its history.
Working Families Tax Credit will provide payments up to $1,200 to individuals and families who meet the requirements. Applications open on February 1, 2023 and are accepted through December 31, 2023.
