Use Form 4506-T to request tax return information. Taxpayers using a tax year beginning in one calendar year and ending in the following year (fiscal tax year) must file Form 4506-T to request a return transcript.
Previously, IRS Form 4506-T was used for this purpose; however, effective May 1, 2021, only Form 4506-C will be accepted through IVES to provide tax transcripts to third parties. (Forms 4506-T and 4506T-EZ are used by taxpayers to request a transcript of tax return.)
We recommend requesting a transcript online since thats the fastest method. If you cant get your transcript online, you can request a tax return or tax account transcript by mail instead.
Individuals can use Form 4506T-EZ to request a tax return transcript for the current and the prior three years that includes most lines of the original tax return. The tax return transcript will not show payments, penalty assessments, or adjustments made to the originally filed return.
Please allow 5 to 10 calendar days for delivery. You may also submit Form 4506-T, Request for Transcript of Tax Return. The time frame for delivery is the same for all available tax years.
