Schedule V drugs are generally used for antidiarrheal, antitussive, and analgesic purposes. Some examples of Schedule V drugs are: cough preparations with less than 200 milligrams of codeine or per 100 milliliters (Robitussin AC), Lomotil, Motofen, Lyrica, Parepectolin.
A CSOS Power of Attorney (POA) is any individual with the authority to sign controlled substance orders for a DEA Registrant. The CSOS POA applicant must have their request approved by the CSOS Coordinator for the DEA Registration number(s) being applied for.
Applicants cannot have sold, distributed, manufactured, or transported any illegal drug or controlled substance without legal authorization. Applicants cannot have used any illegal drug, other than marijuana, within the seven (7) years preceding the date of the application for employment.
This provision of the regulations is often referred to as the five percent rule.
