The Early Intervention Specialist functions as a professional member of the Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) team representing the discipline of early intervention and provides services for ECI children/families whose needs are determined to be most appropriately served by this professional.
The ECSII assessment tool is completed by answering questions divided into six categories, called Domains, that describe different aspects of a young child and their familys strengths and needs. Questions in each of the 6 Domains can have a score from 1 to 5.
Service Intensity means the frequency and quantity of services needed, the extent to which multiple providers or agencies are involved, and the level of care coordination required.
The Early Childhood Service Intensity Instrument (ECSII) is a standardized tool used to determine the intensity of services needed for infants, toddlers, and children from ages 0-5 years.
