If your work-related injury or illness causes you to lose earnings, we will provide income replacement benefits. If we determine that you cant work because of your work-related injury or illness, or you can only safely return to work for less pay, we may pay you up to 85 per cent of your pre-injury take-home pay.
A maximum of 5,000 km can be claimed each year, per car, with diary evidence to show how the rate per km was worked out. This method is best for those making a few trips a year with the maximum claim being $3,300. Click here to download the Work Related Travel Expenses Fact Sheet in PDF form.
Youll get a loss-of-earnings benefit payment every two weeks. If your loss-of-earnings is ongoing, well review your benefit every year until you have received it for six years (72 months). After six years, well review your claim and in most cases, well make it permanent.
Receiving your benefit Monthly payment: If your permanent disability benefit is more than 10 per cent in all your claims, we pay you monthly. Your benefit will be adjusted every year for inflation. We pay this benefit for life.
Significant deteriorations post 72 months. The WSIB may review the LOE benefit after the 72nd month final review if the worker suffers a significant deterioration in their work-related condition (whether or not the work-related condition resulted in a permanent impairment).
