Sign up for a free DocHub account using either your business or personal email address.
Upload the document you want to attach files to by clicking on Select a Document or dragging and dropping it on the dashboard.
Click on Create a document to open your uploaded file in PDF format and start editing right away.
In the toolbar, go to Manage fields > Attachment and place the attachment fields exactly where you want.
If you want to insert an image, go to Manage fields > Image and upload a file of your choice to the document in a viewable location.
Click Sign to Create your signature and apply it to the ready document.
To request additional documents with sign request, use the Prepare sign request menu:
Use the Assignee option to enter the recipient’s email.
Set the assigned field as Required Field if needed.
Limit Allowed File Types if it’s necessary.
Customize the Placeholder Text in the corresponding field.
Download, export, share, or send your updated file using the menu button above.

What types of files can I attach to a PDF document?

You can attach files to PDF in a variety of formats with DocHub: .csv, .html, .rtf, .doc, .pdf, .txt, or .rtx. You can also attach images to PDFs, the following formats are allowed: .png, .jpg, .bmp, .gif, .webp, .svg, .tiff.

How do I add attachments to a PDF online?

Use DocHub’s Add Attachments to PDF option. Simply add attachment fields, select the file you want to include and position it as needed. Once finished, save and download the modified PDF document with the added attachment.

How do I sign a PDF with attachments?

To add your own signature to a PDF file with attachments in DocHub, go to the Sign menu button. It gives you options to create your signature or use your already saved one. If you need collaborators to sign the document, use the Request signatures from others option of the Sign button.

Are there any size limitations for a PDF with a file attachment?

Yes, there are. For DocHub, the file upload limit is 30 MB. If your attachment exceeds this limit, you may need to compress the file. This restriction is in place to ensure smooth uploading and downloading of PDFs with attachments.

Can I remove or edit attachments once they are added to a PDF?

Yes, DocHub allows you to remove or edit attachments after they have been added. To do this, open the PDF in the editor, click on the attachment you want to remove, and modify or delete it. The changes in the document will be autosaved.

Can I set limits on what file types collaborators can attach to the PDF documents?

Yes, you can. When you request attachments from signers in DocHub, use the Allowed File Types option from the Prepare Sign Request menu to limit the allowed file types for attachments the assignees can upload. This feature helps maintain the document's integrity and usability.

To ensure that an inserted attachment is visible, check that it is properly placed within the PDF document and not overlapping with other elements.
