On your computer, click the Start menu . Click Settings . Open your default apps: Original version: Click System. Default apps. Creators Update: Click Apps. Default apps. At the bottom, under Web browser, click your current browser (typically Microsoft Edge). In the Choose an app window, click Google Chrome.
Open Settings: Press Win + I to open the Settings app. Navigate to Default Apps: Go to Apps Default apps. Set Default Browser: Scroll down to the Web browser section. Click on the current default browser (Edge) and select Google Chrome from the dropdown menu.
How to import your certificate to the browser and save a back-up copy Open Microsoft Edge, click on Settings and more icon in the upper right corner click the menu icon select Privacy, search and services scroll down to Security click Manage certificates. Click Personal click Import.
Go to Edge Settings (You will find them if you click on the 3 horizontal dots at the top right, when you open Edge). Un-check: Browsing history Cookies and other site data Site permissions Close and open Edge again. Choose Dont switch to Chrome. Close Edge. When you open Edge again, the pop-up wont appear again.
Have you set Chrome as Default Browsser in Window Settings Apps Default Apps Browser choose Chrome. If so and Edge is still opening, check in all your Startup locations to make sure Edge nor anything else you dont need running for you personal use when Windows starts, is disabled.
Extensions designed for Google Chrome can also be used in Microsoft Edge. In Microsoft Edge, go to the Chrome Web Store. Select Allow extensions from other stores in the banner at the top of the page, then select Allow to confirm. Select the extension you want to add and select Add to Chrome.
Extensions in Edge are installed under this path: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\profilefolder\Extensions . (Of course you need to change the username and profilefolder to your owns) You can check files under this path, then you can get the extensions installed.
To fix that, open the Control Panel and launch Default Programs. Scroll down to Chrome and click on it. Youll then see a list of all the file types and links that Chrome is set to open. For any entries that show Microsoft Edge as the default program, change the entry to Chrome.
