Robots Reading Vogue is a set of experiments on the ProQuest Vogue Archive which is the entire digitized version of Vogue magazine back to 1892. Topic modeling is a type of statistical modeling used to identify topics or themes within a collection of documents. It involves automatically clustering words that tend to co-occur frequently across multiple documents, with the aim of identifying groups of words that represent distinct topics.
The topic is the broad, general theme or message. It is what some call the subject. The main idea is the key concept being expressed.
Topic modeling is a method for unsupervised classification of such documents, similar to clustering on numeric data, which finds natural groups of items even when were not sure what were looking for. Latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) is a particularly popular method for fitting a topic model.
Topic modeling is used to analyze clusters of topics or co-occurring words in a text or series of texts, often with the aim of understanding recurring themes.
In natural language processing (NLP), topic modeling is a text mining technique that applies unsupervised learning on large sets of texts to produce a summary set of terms derived from those documents that represent the collections overall primary set of topics.
