Tag Elements Items in an XML-compliant document or data set are always enclosed in paired opening and closing tags, and the tags must be properly nested. That is, you must close the tags in the same order in which you opened them. XML is stricter in this respect than HTML, which sometimes uses only opening tags.
You can write XML similar to other text files. To create or edit an XML file, you can use any of the following: Text editors like Notepad or Notepad++ Online XML editors.
CDATA is defined as blocks of text that are not parsed by the parser, but are otherwise recognized as markup. The predefined entities such as lt;, gt;, and amp; require typing and are generally difficult to read in the markup. In such cases, CDATA section can be used.
XML is a markup language based on Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) used for defining markup languages. XMLs primary function is to create formats for data that is used to encode information for documentation, database records, transactions and many other types of data.
Syntax: : CDATA End section.
A CDATA section contains text that will NOT be parsed by a parser. Tags inside a CDATA section will NOT be treated as markup and entities will not be expanded. The primary purpose is for including material such as XML fragments, without needing to escape all the delimiters.
CDATA section starts with the special sequence sequence. After the CICS TX XML parser identifies the CDATA sections, it strips out the delimiter and treats the text contents as raw text.
The term CDATA, meaning character data, is used for distinct, but related, purposes in the markup languages SGML and XML. The term indicates that a certain portion of the document is general character data, rather than non-character data or character data with a more specific, limited structure.
