DOCX is a file extension primarily associated with Microsoft Word. It represents documents created with Word and conforms to the Open XML standard, which was introduced by Microsoft in 2007 as an open format for office documents. Since its inception, the DOCX format has undergone several updates and enhancements.
Heres how to do it: Open the file you want to convert. When you change the file format of a document, you choose how your computer recognizes and stores it. Find the Save menu. Once Word opens, you can access the menu. Name your file. Select File format Change the format. Save your new file format.
To edit the Excel sheet, all you need to do is double-click the spreadsheet. This action signals Word to change the available tools. Essentially, double-clicking helps make the Excel tools available at the top of the screen rather than the Word tools.
As of 2007, DOCX is the standard document file format for Microsoft Word. Most Word document files will save automatically with the . DOCX file extension.
Go to Create from file Browse, and locate the file you want to insert in the Word document. Choose one of the following: To add the file as a linked object, select Link to file, and then select OK. To add the file as an embedded object, select Display as icon, and then select OK.
DOC files were the original Microsoft Word format, before they were upgraded to DOCX for Word 2007. All subsequent Microsoft Word documents are compatible with both file types, but DOCX is much smaller and less likely to become corrupted.
